The automaker said the facility will soon be extended to Sync 3, the latest version of multimedia and that is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, which allows to use the content of smartphones with these systems.

How to upgrade

The user must access the Ford website and click on the link "SYNC Software Update". You must enter the vehicle's chassis number in the specific field. The system checks if there is any update available for the model, and if so, the latest version is downloaded in 4 quick steps, describes the automaker.
First, the owner must enter their email to receive a message containing the download link of the software. This process must be done on the computer.
The next step is to transfer the downloaded file to a pen-drive and take it to the vehicle. The transfer to Sync is performed with the car on. At the end of the process, entering the Ford website and submitting the successful installation report, the user should receive the new updates available.
